Rococo provides two different types of developer tools to enable rapid application development and testing of mobile Java apps with Bluetooth functionality on board.
- Impronto Simulator
- Impronto Development Kits (DKs)
Simulator
The Simulator lets developers focus on creating innovative applications without having to have real Bluetooth hardware available. Available for several platforms, the Simulator enables developers to cycle through develop/deploy/test/debug process, without the time-sapping steps of having to setup and deploy to real mobile devices with real Bluetooth hardware. Instead, the Bluetooth network is simulated, and visualised, enabling the developer to focus on their application logic and functionality, until the application is ready for real deployment testing.

Development Kit
The Impronto Development Kit lets developers use real Bluetooth hardware so that they can run and test JSR82-enabled applications and observe and test real Bluetooth radio / networking behaviour, with a choice of platforms, from desktop to mobile. It's the logical "next step" to use after a developer has an application working well in the Simulator: take it to real Bluetooth hardware (again: without having to deploy to mobile devices).
